Good luck on finding one with the vtec-e because almost everyone is tricked out. And if you do find one, it's not going to be in the best condition. If you're not in a rush, just keep checking on Craigslist and you'll eventually run into one.
The OP may be referring to VX'es that were butchered by some kid who thought he had a racecar, and took out the the V-tec E and put an Acura engine in it.
depending on your level of mechanical ability, you could buy a CX or other hatchback and swap in a d15z1 motor. there is a company that makes an equivalent but I can't remember the name.
