Here we go again. The legislature is talking about a gas tax and/or toll hike here in Massachusetts. But the State of Oregon takes the cake. They learned that as drivers buy efficient vehicles, they pay less gasoline tax.
So, in addition to a 2 cent gas per gallon tax increase, the Governor of Oregon wants to institute a 1.2 cent per mile tax so that people who avoid taxes by buying hybrids, EVs or PHEVs still ante up.
So, there goes Orergonians' incentive to buy hybrids and use less petroleum......................}>POOF<{
I hope Taxachusetts doesn't figure this one out soon.
