Recent best and worst MPG readings

Drove 50 miles today, taking the Parents to lunch. Fairly heavy rain going and coming back. Ultra gauge reading 45 MPG. Yesterday going down one of my favorite "back" roads, same gauge reading 110MPG. Deserted country road with no traffic, stop lights or signs, engine off P&G 42 down to 22 MPH.

That would be 132MPG Brit

Saw on the weather report later that there were times when the rainfall rate was 20 inches an hour 70 mph winds at times and a tornado spotted southeast of my home. A few years back we had a tornado pass about a mile to the east and it destroyed Gloucester High School, a steel framed brick structure.

Guys MPG is NOT what we get by taking a short trip.MPG is what we get for a tank of gas at fill up and what we get on average for all driving.

If we post what we get on a short trip because of a OBC reading or a scan gage reading we are being deceived.

Unless a reading is at min. from a full take and calculated out it is a bogus MPG post.

That being said my last tank fill up calculated out to 51.4 MPG.

I have kept records of every gallon purchased and every mile driven and my average is 51.3 MPG.

Full tank to full tank my best is 59.9 mpg UK and the worst is 46.73 mpg UK. Best was June, worst was December. Average over my ownership of the car is 52.9, for 27 top ups.

Lucky you. It cost me £2500/$3235 for 8000 miles, of which £825/$1070 was fuel.

I'll be spending way more than that and having way more fun too. Worth every penny!
