Geo Metro Owners HELP!

Ok, I'm going to look at a lady's Geo Metro on Sunday - not to buy, but to fix for her. I think she has a bad water pump bearing. She does NOT know what the trim level is, but she says she thinks it's a 1.0L (though she sounded unsure).

Before I back myself into a corner and agree to work on it I need to know a few things.

1) Does the car use a timing belt or a chain?
2) Is the car's hardware metric or standard?
3) Does removing the crank pulley require some special puller/tool/method?
4) I'm assuming the waterpump location is similar to that of a Honda - driven by the timing belt and behind a plastic shield that is behind the crank pulley. Am I correct?
