Question Which engine type is correct? (Kia Picanto, 2012)

On this page, it lists the following possibilities:
  • Gas
  • H4 Gas
  • L1 Gas
This is the information I could gather on my partner's Picanto:
  • Kia Picanto 2012 1.25L
  • Hyundai Kappa II engine
  • It's the existing 1.25L 4-cylinder Kappa engine with added VTVT
  • 86 hp (64 kW; 87 PS) at 6,000 rpm
  • 90 lb·ft (122 N·m) of torque at 4,000 rpm
  • 4-speed automatic
Here is more model information: http://www.parkers.co.uk/kia/picanto...-5d-auto/specs

How do I know which of the engine types it is?

Gas refers to petrol. H means a hybrid, so either of the other two will do. L tells you it is inline, so I would probably opt for that.

Thank you

The car selector certainly needs improving.

The H is actually for horizontal; a boxter or flat engine in the likes of Subaru and Porsche.

The number is suppose to reference the number of cylinders.

Right enough. I searched for the earlier post and saw EMY92's reply but read your quote instead of EMY92's correction. Numpty.
