I recently read that solar installation as a source of power is now cheaper to set up than a coal power station in at least 30 countries globally. Good news.

Yep. Don't know if you caught my post a few months ago about someone sitting next to an executive for a Texas coal powered electrical plant. The exec told him his company had just scrubbed any future plans to build another coal powered electrical plant because they can NOT compete with solar panels.

Additionally, Elon Musk claims it's NOW more cost effective to cover the same amount of area required to build a nuclear power plant (plant itself and surrounding safety zone) with solar panels INSTEAD of building a nuclear plant.

About your PV panels....

VERY cool, Paul! Let us know how it affects your electric bill.

How many watts are the panels?

Did you choose poly or mono panels and why?

Any particular panel brand and why them?

Did you get a kit or buy your Charge Controller separately. If so, which brand / model and why them?

Are you storing the electricity collected during the day to use at night?

Doesn't your 800y/o house look like a storybook hobbit domicile? Might it look out of place with modern day, solar panels on a thatched roof?

Post pictures, please.

Your buddies from across the pond, Donald Trump and Doug

I bought them cheap of Trump, ex-whitehouse apparently, he doesn't believe in decades of climate monitoring, and billions of dollars worth of proven scientific research, way too easy to claim climate change is a "hoax"

Just kidding, where did I say that I'd bought solar panels Doug? Or are you on the moonshine again?

I thought you said you recently invested in solar panels, Paul. No?

Moonshine? Nope. We're beyond that. The recent Trump election allowed Californians to also vote for recreational marijuana. What's it like to smoke marijuana, Paul?

Even better, lots of snow in the mountains gives lots of run off next summer. Skiers head North for some great powder,, bring lots of good old U.S. currency

For Tesla drivers lots of charging stations around as well.

Hey, BlueRover! You need the Surrey city council to correct the spelling of your town's name. According to Apple, it should be spelled "Siri".

That's why Microsoft and Android are better LOL

Apple is probably thinking of a little village south of London that copied our name

Surrey is a county not a village, with 11 districts. It has history going back to the Roman times, but most of the towns and villages are Saxon, from around the 5th/6th Century
