The Insight will do worse in the snow. One of the things they did was 0 degrees toe-in to up the mileage, so you have handling issues on other than dry warm pavement, unless you fix toe-in to compensate, and mileage goes down.

Hmmm...that's one of the things I really LIKED about my VX, was great in snow/ice after I got decent LRR tires and some ballast in it. I wouldn't mind sacrificing some MPG in the winter for road-handling performance...if I have to.
Problem is, I've ALREADY got an "extra" car, that I should be working on....a '65 Corvair Corsa convertible.
Back when I was a kid, that was the car I wanted...what I had was a '60 Corvair 700 4-door w/automatic (except for a few months when I first started driving and had a beat up and rusty '61 Corvair Wagon...)
