Mine is the CVT, much less labor intensive in my congested driving environment. I do have to watch my driving locally, or I can drain the battery down if I focus on coasting with no regen. When that happens I just jump on the interstate and it gets charged up in a few miles.
My battery is warranted until summer of 2012 and another 112k miles. They extended the warrantee to 10 years and 150k. I think the mileage was extended again to something like 180k.
