Maybe German cars are different, but the cars I've owned reset after 2500-3000 miles, or after 100 hours I think.

OP, they probably reset the trip meters trying to reset the oil mileage. Kind of odd they did that for a honda, since newer Hondas have a separate oil life screen so you don't have to reset the trip meters to get to the oil. Unlike toyotas.

Actually that was on a Toyota prior to the Honda I have now.
