It's been driving me crazy that I can't seem to get my mileage up much. Really would like a few days of just above freezing with clear roads and no city thrashing to see a decent tank.

However, I realised that Marvin has gotten as bad as 17-18mpg last winter, and the Terrible Tempo I was driving in similar conditions was getting sucky 22-23 winter averages, and 29-30 summer. So on whatever we get for winter gas, and the general winter driving patterns and state of the roads, it seems that summer mileage is usually up 30-40% over winter milage. On those figures, it would seem that I should be seeing a 35-38mpg average in the summer. Since Wile-Es previous summer average was 32mpg, I'm hoping that this does mean I have gained some from the mods, and there's one mod that I'm almost positive isn't "kicking in" yet. So I'm trying to remain optimistic that I might see 50mpg tanks yet...

However, I'm getting a huge desire to move forward with improving winter mileage as it is, by adding WAI, grille block and fuel heater. Having said that, the weather hasn't let me do much. I would like to check his MAF again sometime soon, I had it cleaned up real well before he blew his HG, so ignored it, but I've been thinking it was sitting around long enough to oxidise, and also a lot of crap went in the oil, along with extra combustion pressure to the crank case, and it might have sprayed a load of crap on it through the airbox vent, and I've not even looked at it. I'm not good at working with gloves on and I need it to get warm enough so I can still move my fingers after 30 secs outside. Well won't get anything done this week because my wife needs him all week.

Tranny has been really balky when temp has gone below -15C at night and doesn't warm up good on the highway when airtemp is that or lower. I think I might have to try a good synthetic fluid for next winter. Will also look into whether the transmission cooler is meant to be thermostatically regulated or not.

Without fuel, they were nothing..thundering machines sputtered & stopped..Only those mobile enough to scavenge, brutal enough to pillage would survive. The gangs took over the highways, ready to wage war for a tank of juice

How warm is the tranny getting, and how warm do you want it to be?

I don't know how warm it's getting, answer is somewhere near "not very". These have plastic parts in the solenoid pack that don't like heat, so anything I try to get it warmer, also has the chance of killing it, if we get an unexpectedly hot day in early spring or something.
