I need a device to absorb wasted fuel from vehicle in front of me.

I was driving to day and noticed a 80's chevy truck in front of me that was spewing tons of fuel that wasn't completely burnt. I wish there was a way extract some of that from the air and re-burn it in my car. LOL

you do, it's called the intake manifold.. You'd need a bigger scoop and more air flow to measurably get any fuel from the exhaust..

I should put coils in the street to generate electricity whenever vehicles pass over them. With the traf f*** on my street, I could power the entire city.

You need one of those funnel things like on a refueling boom for jets except you would have to reverse it and stick it out the front of your car. Then you have to maneuver it up by his tailpipe and stay real close.

This is a great idea! Imagine, small magnets underneath cars linked up to turbines in high traffic/high speed areas like highways.

Especially in places where traffic has to slow down anyway. Generated power and save on brake wear.

Already being developed in California... genius!

It might seem a little ironic, but automotive traffic could be the next source of green energy. A bill for a pilot program that will harness road vibration and convert it to energy passed 6-1 in the California State Assembly's Natural Resources Committee yesterday. It will move to the Assembly Transportation Committee for voting next week.
