Mandatory EOC

I am pretty sure I was getting absolutely amazing gas mileage yesterday, my radiator fan lost a blade that handily sliced into the radiator causing a rather large coolant leak. Luckily it had just rained, for the last week, so I managed to limp the car home 40 miles by filling the radiator the best I could with ditch water, and then accelerating to 40 and coasting to near stop, where I would jump out and push to get an extra 20 feet or so. Perhaps the first gas/shoe hybrid? haha

Just wanted to share my experience, on the bright side, the little Civic is working again!

Heh heh, I think towing insurance is less than $5/month.

Pulse and glided home in my Z with no fan belt, was cooler when I got there than when I started. Air pressure rotated the fan and worked the water pump. It never got close to hot.

regards

Use your shoelaces for a fan belt!
