"Sensed" effect of increased tire pressure.

The last couple of tanks I've had my '05 Colorado at 38#. Didn't feel much difference in driving. This morning I upped it to 40#. Although I don't trust "butt dynos", I sense that the two pound change really makes it run more "free". It'll be interesting to see if my FE improves to match my impression.

Probably will help. Unless you get the idea that you can fly along 5-10 mph faster than before (BTDT). That will kill any FE gains right there.

Currently getting +/- 50 mpg in fall weather. EPA is 31/39 so not too shabby. WAI, fuel cutoff switch, full belly pan, smooth wheel covers.

Now driving '97 Civic HX; tires ~ 50 psi. '89 Volvo 240 = semi-retired.

I went from mid 40s to 55psi and it felt like I was rolling a lot easier. I guess going up more than 10 pounds could easily do that but it might have been placebo effect also.

Is there a benefit to different pressures front and back?

well i do it in the back for better steering. at 50 psi in front i cant take as sharp as turns because they start to slide to easy but the backs dont matter.

"Butt dyno" often is the placebo effect.

Took a fifty-mile highway trip last evening and still have the sense of rolling easier. The purpose of my post was to mention that going from 35# to 38# didn't seem to make a discernable difference, but 38# to 40# did.

No intentional change in driving habit or speed--much to my wife's frustration. She's an aggressive and fast driver who doesn't get the same kick I do out of FE figures.
