If it hasnt warmed up while idling for 10 minutes it probably wont heat up all the way anyway.

On warm days that are for example 20C+ a very short warm up is all thats needed , perhaps , start , wait 10 or so seconds and then drive off and drive conservativly for another few minutes.

In winter time when its 5C and less the same method can apply but watch the temp gauge and dont use heavy throttle untill it reaches the normal opperating zone.

I tend to idle a little bit longer than I would recomend because as soon as I leave my driveway I enter quite a fast and busy roadway which may require full throttle applications.

But if a person lives in a typical suburban area with low spead roads around them , even in winter time , start up , wait a few minutes and then proceed with gradually increasing loads on the engine untill fully warm.

This should be the nicest on the engine and be a suitable ballance for FE.

FE isnt everything if you rengine wears out in a 3rd of the time , thats not economy.

Just always be late to where you're going. Then you don't have time to let the car idle for 10 minutes.

If you have the choice when to take your car trip try and arrange the time when its not going to be raining.
Water on the roads and especially puddles suck FE.

Last time I was out and it was raining hard in the sections of roads that I would normally roll down I had to be in gear with the power on.

So , dont go out if its raining.

If its a work day call your boss and explain your FE hobby and why you can't make it in rite now , Ime sure he will understand.

Well, If you have a garage and a block heater that would be the best scenario.

Get all the snow off you car. No need to be carring around that extra weight
