Your car has already lost $10,000 US dollars in three years/27000 miles though, a new battery by the time it's due for replacement will be less than a third of that no doubt.

Most people lease the entire car, the battery is included in that, most people will save money this way as they're not paying much in terms of fuel costs, and they're not really loosing the thousands...
