I'm not worried about that...unless something goes wrong, I won't be putting the TH350 back in.

I got the T5 removed from the donor vehicle today and cleaned it up. I need to buy a decent set of pin drifts/punches so I can remove a roll pin to get the T5 open. Usually I improvise with an allen wrench or a cut-off nail but that's not working and I don't want to mangle anything.

While removing the T5 I was surprised at just how much I could lower the transmission and attached engine. I got about 4 inches of drop at the shifter. I was able to awkwardly but effectively remove the upper bellhousing bolts using wobble extensions.

I didn't really care in the S10 but when I take the TH350 out of the Buick will I need to support the engine?

Yes, you will need to support the engine. This is how I did it. I took a foot long section of 2x6 and placed it on top of a floor jack. Roll it under the car and center it under the oil pan. Pump it up, so it just starts to lift the engine. You just want to take the weight off the transmission, so the engine won't drop when you disconnect it.
