No engine light on VX

OK, here is where my dumb *** shines as an idiot. I just now noticed that my engine light does not cycle on as one would expect. I mean it should come on with the rest of the idiot lights when the key is on but the engine is not, right?! I don't know if it is burnt out, disconnected or what and I have no idea where to begin figuring it out. I found the diagnostic jumper and jumped the connection and still no light. Any help here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Do you mean the check engine light? First thing to do is pull the cluster out and check the bulb.

HERE is a how to that involves removing the instrument cluster. The how-to is actually on changing the light bulbs in the cluster but it involves taking off the cluster.

UPDATE.... After playing musical bulbs I got a code for the TPS [which was expected after my shoddy install] and one for the O2 sensor. Glad I have an O2 sensor on the way! The bulbs were all fine, it appears that someone bent the contact on the check engine light. I can't see how the contact could have gotten bent any other way. Bent the contact back down and it works fine. Pulling the cluster is 7 screws and was not as bad as I expected, didn't even break a clip. I'm not happy with the screws that came with the TPS, they are the kind that have a conical head and not flat like the originals. That makes the sensor move as you tighten it down, which is not bueno. Have to go to Ace and get some new ones today. It's nice so I'lll ride my scoot today and get that sensor dialed in tomorrow. Thanks to everyone that chimed in with help, you are much appreciated.
