This still doesn't explain what the exact phenomenon is that one would be trying to exploit here. Google doesn't reveal much there by simply searching for "hull effect".

You are correct; I don't know squat about cold fusion. I do know something about magnetic fields though. Do tell. And no, I'm not going to do a ton of reading. Just gimme the quick book report.
