Showing a buddy riding technique and traded bikes for half the day. He revs the motor more than I do. 87 AKI the whole day. Temps are beginning to come down again. 87 proved all that was necessary. Bike doesn't grumble anymore about its fuel being bad.

Spotted two riders 17 miles at the start of the day. One fueled three times, the other fueled twice. My bike? Once, near the end. Blitzed them all and skunked them on range. Totally dominated them today and they openly admitted it.

Just goes to show that you cannot be certain of anything. Thought the unburned contaminant was out, but there are still droplets or something. Had a bit of a scare over 140 miles into today's ride, but found it due to atmospheric changes, effecting the bike and the contaminant. Did two more 1/8 mile runs to ingest the crap that's in there bugging the system up.

Scoping out some hiking trails in the mountains. Scared a GTR-14 rider by coming up on him too fast in the twisties. I'm sure he saw me a turn or two before. It appeared he sped up and tried what looked like a maximum speed turn. I swooped around him on the exit. I did see him again on my way back out. He was a long way back.

Ran 89 AKI, but filled up with 91 because it was almost the same price at another station. Doing pretty good on the MPG numbers considering how we were riding today. Used to see 48 MPG doing stuff like this. I would have imagined the heat to take a toll as well, but apparently not. Close to 105,000 miles.

Don't know if 89 AKI was the issue recently, but 87 AKI is returning some very good numbers. That and less braking because of my new calipers.

That added up fast. Love riding more with heated grips. 98,500. 100K is just around the corner. New Nissin calipers seem to drag less. That or my riding style is adapting to them, b/c MPG is going up again. Could be solo riding. Don't get cocky.

Carb icing fuel load. Fuel was 17 days old and I may have washed the bike and got water inside the tank during that wash. All of it has been burned out. New fresh 87 AKI is in there now. Several city mile trips (~10%) in this one too.

After carb sync and cleaning/re-oiling the air filter. A bit chilling in the upper elevations, but the hand warmers make a huge difference. Stopped for pictures of the snow at mile 240.7. Well within safety. Just testing to see how adjusting the valves may or may not have changed things. Better top-end, but otherwise unchanged. :) 97,500.

Took some out today. Cooler temps for a change, but the PR2 rear held firm. Gave it a good pasting climbing up over the summits. Left the other rider for dead, as he put it. Couldn't transition his bike as well as the heavy old 9 in the repeated S turns. What it really comes down to is rider form. He doesn't want to get out of his saddle, so that's the difference. Traffic was understanding and many moved over. Got honked at once for passing too close, I guess. Fuel was 87 AKI again, except I fueled up at the end with 89. It's supposed to get warm again and if so, she'll need it.

New drive train. Went 40K miles. Should have attempted to replace the masterlink. The sprockets looked excellent and the chain itself didn't look half bad either. 94,500 miles on her. Chain last changed at 54K.
