Lots of hypermiling behind slower traffic due to showers here and there. People overreacting. 87 AKI due to humidity and temps. Kicking it up a notch in the mountains getting my swerve on.

87 AKI again due to low temps or other favorable conditions. Absolutely smoking whomever I'm riding with. The guys are thinking we should do a rally to see which bike comes out on top. I just blurted out, "I think the 9R has you guys covered." Nobody said a word in rebuttal and we're talking about bikers with egos. Even before the first fuel up you could tell there was curious haste in their voices, asking me to fuel up. I said, I got it covered. We were only at ~220 miles. The next stop was another 20 - 30 miles. I could make that distance, easy!

87 AKI. Everyone is in disbelief. The smaller bikes aren't seeing these kinds of numbers, nor are the big touring bikes. The liter bikes are consuming at least 50% more and the nearest competitors on economy aren't in the same league when it comes to twistie enjoyment.

Me and an R1 rider went out and really chewed it up. This must be more what you guys talk about when saying you ring your bike's tits off. I was mostly scared of the what-if-we-get-cited speeds we were doing in the corners and the straights. 87 AKI only. Very high altitude for most of it.

Railing with a liter bike buddy. 87 AKI Other rider is an A Group type that prefers to ride fast on the street. We must have had every smoky from two counties shadowing us until we got far enough away from them to care. No citations, just close up and personal watching.

What a lovely day for a ride, the best so far this year as far as weather goes. Nothing too crazy, a couple of high RPM passes, skipping the front tire as we went, but mostly a tame pace. 87 AKI out and in.

Still running the 89 AKI, although I did slip in 3.5g of 87 AKI. She complained a little until I could get her back up into the mountains. Back on the Michelin Pilot Power, from the PR2. It's good to be back. I just feel so much more confident about the potential grip that's available should I need it.

All 89 AKI still. Temps still to hot to go any lower. Really ripping it up today with a new guy. Guy on a Ducati was burning 2.5 times the fuel over the same distance. I was cruising in 6th gear. He gave me a pretty good run for my money, but he withered time and time again. He was a good ride, with a race prepped bike, and great sticky tires, but he wouldn't get out of his seat, so I just ran away from him. It was great fun. Wonder what the GoPro captured.

Boonies. Started with yesterday's 89 AKI w/o a top-off. Added 1 gallon of Shell 89 AKI and the bike started pinging under acceleration. It was the choice of the lead rider. I've always disliked Shell fuels. They're different and not better different. Found a second tier gas station at about the 300 mile mark and topped off with 89 AKI there. No more pinging, even when the water temps were touching 217*.

No opportunity to hypermile on this ride. Actually chased the other bike at extra-legal speeds at the beginning and end of this ride. In between, where I could apply the 9Rs handling, it left the other rider in the dust (not racing). The difference being I had to check with the other rider to be certain he knew where to fill up along today's route. He topped off at the turn around just to make it back. I did the full out-n-back without the need for extra fuel. "How do you do that?," he said. His bike goes 130 miles and he's pushing it. That's actual, he told me the story where it ran out of gas on him.

I'm really getting good at hypermiling. Was able to coast down long stretches on this ride. Not to cheat, I returned the exact same hill climbing route back, so it should have evened out somewhat. Was not being nice today at all, riding somewhat aggressively passing cars and doing twice as many laps through the mountains as we originally intended. Fuel was 89 AKI. Refilled with 87 AKI. Air temps were somewhat high. Other bike fueled four times today. The other rider was joking that when I finally do fill up, he's going to take a picture to show everybody. Rumor is that I don't stop often enough for the other riders.

Didn't top off before the ride, so this may be skewed too low, whatever. 89 AKI the whole trip. The pace was somewhat excessive, with a lot of passing, but I think most of it had to do with not topping off at the beginning. Transposed the front brake pads since I couldn't get a fresh set in time for a big ride coming up. Brake drag until they bed in was pretty high, only about 1 turn or less at first.
