This was the 21/79/68/40 loop. Ran excellently! First time it was cruising around 14:1 at 70+mph and leaner most of the time. Very responsive and powerful yet clean cruise. Going to call the ECU finished!:)

First run with the E-33 ECU flashed to more conservative settings and stock 3 bar fuel pressure. Seemed to run fine, and it was over stoichiometric for longer periods than I've ever seen...didn't miss a beat. Good runner.

Final test ride with ECU adjusted to -15 idle, -25 10%, -25 25%, -10 50%. Runs very nicely like this, and about as lean as it can without rideability issues. This is also with fuel pressure set to nominal 44 psi...it waves around a bit from 40-45 depending on its' mood. Bike RIPS!:)

This is two partial rides while messing with the fuel pressure. 1st ride was about 40 and dropping to mid 30's under throttle, second ride I bumped it up to about 45 then dropping to about 40 at the least. The second ride also had the E-33 ECU set to stock where the first ride was the 49 State ECU also set to stock. The E-33 runs smooth and holds back more off throttle...while running a bit richer, but this could also be the fuel pressure effect. More testing needed, but I'm pretty happy with the pressure regulator install...was a move in the right direction.

First rides with fuel pressure regulator working. Set last night to about 43 which then went under 40 with reduced throttle, then today a mountain run with 50 static going to 45 or so with vacuum.

Started ride at 80F and is now 87 but well over 90 in places. HOT! And everyone is sitting at lights daydreaming and making me want to kill them all. Why oh why can't people DRIVE when they're in their cars? Driving is like 4th down the list of shopping, talking, makeup or eating or checking email/texts. When I become King of the World...NO cell phone will work when it's moving..period.

Went to witness the changing of the Gnome...Mo. SVR guys handed it off to someone who was going West with him and the intention of getting Mo to all 50 States. Nice people to meet, and my SV stood out like a sore thumb.:) Was easily the cleanest and prettiest of the 4 bikes there...but that's to be expected as I ride then clean. These people were all FAR from home...so dirty bikes are forgiven and expected. NEAT to see 4 SV's all together like that! 2 650's with a Curvy and Pointy and two SV1K's.

First ride with Conti Motion front tire. Nice! Handles progressively and very neutral. Solid when banked with good feel and minimal stand-up when braking. Didn't push the tire until it's well scrubbed and I'm familiar with the handling...which IS a bit different than the Shinko 011 was. The 011 would 'fall' into corners more easily while this Motion takes a bit of counter-steer to push it in...but not very much and it's feeling good. Compared to the PR2's, this is MUCH lighter steering and if it lasts two rears, I might have my new favorite tire. Price was $150 delivered for the set! Not bad.:)

Went back to 18/40 gearing about half way through the tank. Gives a little over 62" wheelbase and seems to really ride nice! Had to order a fresh set of tires because the front is worn thin and showing delamination damage a couple places. Only got 8900 miles on the 011 this time...went to Conti Motions for the next set as they're the cheapest!!:)

July 4th weekend...lots of traffic, so I was just running a nice easy economy run...though I did have to pass some number of idiots that vexed me. This is a pretty decently calm ride here...out 21 to Wanesburgh then to 68 and back through Ohiopyle. Good representative ride. Started out about 63 and now is 73 so nice and cool w/high pressure.

This was the second ride with the modified pressure regulator...and man did the bike run great!! VERY smooth and powerful and just a real joy to ride...not that it wasn't a joy before.:) The motor lugs down much smoother and I found it was able to motor up hills in 6th that I would have run in 5th or even 4th to keep it running smoothly. The fuel pressure fluctuations were making the engine run less smoothly than it can...and does now. Very chuffed!!

Jun 18 2016

This was a dam run, and I stopped at the top at 68, shut it off then restarted to watch the A/F on the way down. I'm convinced it ran leaner on the way down and to home, which says the ECU looks at the Altitude Sensor when it first keys on and not during the run. That makes sense as the ECU will then pick the appropriate map for the altitude at hand when started and the pressure sensors will handle the rest. Seeing as the bike can only go 200 miles on a tank max, it won't be far off unless it's going straight up the Rocky's.

Jun 12 2016

Nice ride today! Wasn't riding for mileage and had the video running trying to get some exhaust sound...but the HD170 only wants to pick up the gears and valvetrain clattering and not so much exhaust or intake sounds. I've got an external speaker for it...but even clipped back at the tail it doesn't pick up the exhaust booming very well at all.:( Oh well...nice day for a ride! Windy as all get out, and the damn Cicada's everywhere. Must have killed 50 in 100 miles. There were literally thousands of them laying around in the lot at the gas station. Crazy things.

Jun 11 2016

Today we went about 60 miles with the full length silencer in the can, but it was really running rich...so I pulled it out for the next 100 miles. Much better! The A/F ratios were running nice mid 13's to low 14's most of the time and much leaner than it had been with the insert. I'd been running a chopped down insert just because the bike ran the best with it...but since redoing the fuel system this seems to be unneeded and ran absolutely GREAT with the open can. Sounds glorious too!:) Will do another test ride tomorrow if the weather holds.

First ride with new fuel filter setup! I swear it pulls better down low and is smoother, so my thinking that the rear cylinder was being starved when the pressure went down seems to be plausible. This tank was a little overfilled inside the house before I noticed so this might be a little high mpg wise, but more running will tell the story. Wouldn't surprise me if the FuelBot calibration changes due to the more stable fuel pressure. I'd noticed before that the fuel used readout was different when I ran it hard..than easy. If the A/F split between cylinders was changing...that would make sense.

Last ride on stock fuel filter. Have new setup ordered and will be installed before the next ride so we'll see how it acts. Now it's dropping 15 psi at WFO and this wasn't even using the top end...just midrange torque but it's wanting more fuel instantly than the puny stock filter can give it. The new one will feed a big-motored Tahoh so that should work better!!

This is my first Legal Ride since the first year of ownership!! Got it inspected last Friday and wasn't able to ride all weekend to break in the sticker.:) Took a Vacation day today so it was beautiful out with mid 60's and high pressure. Bike ran strong and crisp. FuelBot said 47.5mpg...might need to recal a bit.
