Run to Ohiopyle. Out at 55 in at 59F. Explored the upper regions of tachometer a few times...bike RIPS. :) Really likes the tune...going to have to record the next run for analysis as it's getting pretty close. Cruising around 16:1 most of the time and the transient rich episodes mostly gone. Idle at 15.5:1 with some lope at 1400. Nice.

Sep 15 2018

Tune with 35.5 total timing and a bit less TPS low throttle fuel. Runs very nicely...over stoich at most cruise then progressively richer with throttle application. Went to 68 and 75+ cruise in the mountains. 70F

Second test run on Woolich tune. 32 degrees max timing, -10% fueling on TPS. Pretty decent running...little snorty down low and VERY lean at light throttle but it seems to be OK with that.

First Official Run with Woolich Racing ECU mods. 30 degrees total timing and 5% fuel removed from 50%+throttle. TEKA tune at light throttle still in place. Not perfect but ran pretty well considering the massive changes. Need some fine tuning but a good start.

Very nice ride. New fuel pressure gauge...set to 42 psi which is about 4-5 higher than before with the old messed up gauge. A/F tended to run on the rich side but it's also 68F and high pressure. Smooth and nice today.

Added another turn of shock preload to get sag to 30mm and man does it ride nice now! Takes the bumps better than it's ever done....and handles well. Turn in is easy and it hold the line well even under power coming out of the turns. Seems to really like power on...just feels great.

Windy day 65F. Roads very dirty still, but tomorrow rain comes then cold so it was today or wait another week for a ride. Bike ran well, had raised the rear 1/2" and front 1/4" which did fine but showed the need for a bit more rebound. Will adjust for next ride.

First run with the 49 State ECU tuned to the new low fuel pressure spec. Ran most excellently! Very strong torque and at the 55-59F outside fueling was spot on....cruising at 15.5'ish and idling about 13:1. Very nice.

This is two rides...Sat and Sun so an additional cold start. Never got to 60 out..so a little chilly and I stayed on the bottom loop but ran it to Smithfield and back. Bike ran very nicely! Was playing with fork preload and reducing it got the steering much easier and consistent. It felt like it 'fell in' the turn before, now it's smooth and progressive through the turn. Very nice!

NICE fall day!! Trees have turned colors and despite the brisk winds it was a fun ride. Cranked up the front spring preload 1/4" and it did seem to slow the steering down a tad...might have to drop it back down.

What a gorgeous day! Was low 60's when I left, is 73 now. Went for the complete short loop through Ohiopyle..which was a bit of a bother as they're doing the Buckwheat Pancake Festival and people were all milling around stupid as all shit. Why do people become morons (or moreso) when around a bunch of others? Jaywalkers abound, then you have drives who will sit at a crosswalk when nobody wants to cross. Idiots. This, sadly, led to some unsociable behaviour from yours truly and a few 'terror passes' were made. Oh well...they should consider themselves lucky to get to hear an SV at full song.:)

Oct 9 2016

Pretty cold this morning...47 when I left and 54 when I got back. Cut the ride short because of this...went the bottom loop then back same way to even out the wind which was considerable. Bike ran very nicely! The cold doesn't seem to hurt the tune at all...felt crisp and responsive..and powerful. Think the new hotter plugs did help it here at low revs as it felt better than before and pulled very cleanly no matter the engine speed.

Seafoam spiked fuel, and short baffle in pipe. DID seem to run smoother and more responsive without the flat spot coming up in revs like before . Strange.

Oct 5 2016

New plugs, felt harsh today. Big front went through yesterday evening so we've got super-high pressure out there...and it's running harshly down low. Going to change the exhaust insert to the shortest one trying to soften the hit down low. Seems the new hotter plugs has increased the combustion speed a bit, so I need to lose some charge. Wish I could turn down the timing. Oh well...

Oct 4 2016

Installed a fresh set of CR8EIX Iridium plugs to replace the colder CR9EIX as I felt they weren't needed on the street. To run constant Autobahn type high speeds I'd feel better with the colder plugs but putting around on the local streets the 8's should be fine. Bike ran about perfectly with the 9's, so expecting it to run much better with the hotter plugs is silly...but it sure doesn't run any worse. Feels a bit perkier and hit harder when cranking on the throttle...or at least it seems that way. Runs damn nice.:)

Oct 1 2016

Very pretty day....rained all last night so roads were still wet. In the low 60's and I went to Farmington and back as it was getting darker and windy up on the mountain. Figured that the Ohiopyle route would be washed over a bunch so bailed and came home. Still..bike ran fine. Ordered some CR8EIX to replace the current CR9EIX in there now. They never actually foul, but sometimes if I hit it hard down low it'll kind of bog before getting up on the pipe. I think this is the chamber being a bit cold, and this will make for a good experiment.

Sep 25 2016

Did a bunch of full throttle runs with the Drift recording for playback and analysis later. Fueling went a tad lean around 6-7000 for a bit then 'kicked in' and took off to the redline if I opened it up down low. This must be when the ECU switches from SD to AN and is no big deal. Hitting it from higher revs like 5-6000 had it pulling hard and clean, so I think it's more a factor that the plugs and exhaust are cold than any fueling issues. The pressure did drop a bit, but that's to be expected running two regulators which I will correct next time I'm inside the tank. The stock reg 'should' limit it to 43 psi but the big pump blows way past that...like 58 or so. But then when the demand is great enough the reg can finally control it. Have another reg downstream to control the cruising pressure, but it's got a little creep and drops the WFO pressure to mid-high 30's now. Not terrible, but I'll just block the internal reg and run the external one down the road.

This run through Ohiopyle was with the full length exhaust baffle, though it does have some shark-gill slits in it in an attempt to alter the tuning curve a bit. Ran very smoothly and pulls well down off the bottom with this baffle, and now with the fuel system set as it is...feels sprightly and comes up on the cams well. Didn't seem to hurt the top-end power though I didn't run it all the way out to redline. Seems very nice street baffle setup.
