Thanks, I'll take red. Red looks faster so people won't think I'm driving too slow .

It will be interesting to see what responses you'll get from posting your numbers in the teamswift.net FE forum.

I stopped doing that after I had to spend time trying to convince people that over 55 mpg was indeed possible. I didn't think it was worth the effort - and there was nobody to back me up at the time.

I am at that point too. I wasn't going to do it this time but did anyway. Probably the last time .

Well! Posting your 70+ tank at teamswift sure kicked up a little dust!

I wonder why some people get so worked up from someone posting high numbers.

Trying to think of the opposite -- it's like someone mentioning a Quarter-Mile time in Drag Racing, or top speed achieved, etc...it may very well have happened with the numbers posted, but people will have their doubts, and be vocal about it.

Sad part is, there's really no way to absolutely prove the mileage unless you do some sort of video documentary or have an onsite, independent panel of Scientists. 1/4-mile slips can be scanned or published rally stage times can be noted.

So around here, the honor system seems to work Other places, ummm....

Yeah, I see what you're getting at.

The biggest offense the person seemed to take to jwxr7's MPG was that "it's not real" because he's not driving "normally", and not going 60 mph on the highway. So "it doesn't count."

Edit: the thread for anyone who wants to see it, is: http://www.teamswift.net/viewtopic.php?t=17057

Go to the May 31 entries near the bottom of pg 4

CO ZX2:

Thanx to MetroMPG and Coyote X for speaking up for jamie on teamswift.net.

Actually I think the moaning and groaning at teamswift will give jwxr7 the impetus for even more improvement. It becomes a personal battle within yourself to accomplish what others say and think can't be done.

Go get 'em, jwxr7.

Does a team have to wait for a new cycle to join in on the competition? I couldn't find anything in the rules about when a new team could join, just new drivers.

We have three on our team and would like to go ahead and get going if possible.

Thanks!

Fourthbean

EDIT: Just read the begining of the "recruit" thread. Looks like a new team must wait till the next cycle begins . 34 days to go
